For the Caples Show House, we were invited to showcase our design perspective alongside other respected local design firms within the historic Caples Mansion - a stunning 1930s estate located near New College in downtown Sarasota.
Assigned a uniquely challenging room within the home, we embraced the opportunity to infuse the space with personality, rich color, and playful Art Deco-inspired details that honored the character of the historic architecture while introducing a fresh, modern energy. Through bold paint selections, reflective wall coverings, vintage artwork, and layered metallic accents, we created a space that felt curated, dramatic, and cohesive from every angle.
An adjacent bathroom featuring striking cobalt blue plumbing fixtures inspired additional moments of contrast and glamour, where gold accents and textured finishes helped tie the spaces together seamlessly. Throughout the project, we carefully navigated and overcame a variety of architectural challenges including low and pitched ceilings, multiple entry points within the room, and narrow staircases that required thoughtful planning for furniture installation and layout design.
The final result was a vibrant, visually layered space that celebrated both the history of the home and the creativity that thoughtful interior design can bring to even the most complex environments.
